DIY: Install Map Light LEDs

1. Changing your map light bulbs from halogen to LEDs is a simple, inexpensive mod that looks really nice!

 2. You will need two size 194 bulbs.
 3. Begin by pushing in the glasses tray and you will see two star shaped screw on the sides. Remove both these screws.
 4. This is the hardest part: using a thin, flat object like a plastic knife, you will need to push a clip on either side of the map light to loosen it.
 5. A view of the clip. Note that you will need to push it inwards and down to unclip it. Once you get it, the side will just fall down.

 6. I suggest pushing the freed side back in just a tad bit but not enough that the clip catches back. You will need to get the other clip now.
 7. Once off, the whole thing will be loose and is held on by a lone cable.
 8. Twist the caps on either side to remove the bulbs
from their socket.

 9. Place your new LED bulb in, making sure not to touch the bulb itself.

 10. Put the bulb in and confirm it lights up. If not, take the bulb out and put it in the other way.
11. Lookin good!
